Shopfloor and Structural Sheet Steel Welding

From thin, hollow structural sections to tractors and trucks, sheet steel makes up many of the items we rely on every day.  Structural sheet steel is also used in critical applications such as pharmaceutical processing equipment and high-performance marine and aerospace assemblies.

To facilitate safe and reliable sheet metal welding, Shopfloor includes welding forms and Code checks that comply with the AWS D1.3 Structural Welding Code for Sheet Steel.

AWS D1.3 Structural Welding Code Sheet Steel in Shopfloor

The AWS D1.1 Structural Steel Welding Code

This sheet steel welding functionality mirrors the AWS D1.1 structural steel welding code feature already available in Shopfloor.  Note that support for creating prequalified AWS welding procedures is also provided by Shopfloor.   Prequalified welding procedures are exempt from testing requirements and can reduce welding costs by thousands of dollars.

Switching between Welding Codes in Shopfloor is accomplished by simply selecting the desired Welding Code from the Codes menu.
