For cases where the measured thicknesses do not change INSPECT leaves the cell blank. This makes the dialog easier to read and draws the user’s attention to the corrosion “hot spots”.
Flange rigidity is one of the criteria that would need to be met when rating older equipment to later Codes. The rigidity check used to be in Non-mandatory appendix S then later moved into Appendix 2. Our recommendation is to perform this check even for older flanges.

There are no INSPECT based limits on the number or type of files that can be saved. A number of INSPECT clients currently use this feature for this purpose.

As time permits we will likely add in the 650 rules but right now our intention is to implement the post construction API 653 rules to assist our clients rerate the tanks.
INSPECT currently implements the lasted Editions of the supported standards. When the next version of the API510 or 579 are released we will implement them as well.

As INSPECT contains all of the functionality of COMPRESS, it is a good option for fabrication shops that also perform rerates for their clients during turn around periods. Many owner/operators have inspection data and send it to the fabricator so they can assess the vessel since the equipment is in the shop for work.
